Rare Bird Craft Beer Launches Red Ale to Kick-Off Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week

Guysborough, Nova Scotia – Rare Bird™ Craft Beer officially announced the newest addition to its craft beers of rare character, Rare Bird Red Ale, a refreshing red ale to take people into the summer months.  Rare Bird Red Ale is now available at more than 35 NSLC stores and private retailers across the Province, as well as at its craft brewery in Guysborough.

“We’ve developed a loyal following in the Maritimes for our strong Pale Ale and Full Steam Stout, and fans have been asking us to create a year-round beer with lower alcohol and with a bit less hops,” said Rare Bird Craft Beer President, Glynn Williams. “Rare Bird Red Ale is our response - an easygoing, handcrafted sessionable ale to be enjoyed with friends and family.  I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Craft Beer Week in Nova Scotia, with its official kick-off this Friday, than to launch such a great beer.”

At 5% alcohol and 25 IBUs, Rare Bird Red Ale is an approachable ale, brewed for people who enjoy a well-balanced craft beer.  Made with Authentic Seacoast Company’s Glanbùrn artesian water, this richly coloured beauty opens with a nice whiff of toffee and smoke from six different, deep-roasted malts, then with a refreshing bit of spice from Canadian rye, and then comes into balance with American hops.

Rare Bird Red Ale will be available for tasting during Nova Scotia Craft Beer Week at Symphony Nova Scotia’s Beer & Beethoven event at the Halifax Forum on May 8th, Open Brewery Day at the Rare Bird Craft Brewery in Guysborough on May 9th, White Point Beach Resort’s Nova Scotia Craft Beer Weekend on May 9th and Full House at the Olympic Community Centre on May 16th.
